Our History

Foster Tachographs Limited signed its first contract agreement to sell tachographs to the haulage and coach industry on 26 October 1966. Since then we have become transport industry experts on a range of important industry issues, and this includes playing an advisory role on the Technical and Government Liaison Committee.

The company has gone from strength to strength as the transport industry has evolved and grown. As a natural progression, we moved into the field of analysis in the early 1970s and began creating innovative systems for clients to maintain compliance and meet increasing legislative requirements.

Our business ethos is underpinned by strong family values: the Foster family business is over 150 years old, first established as a drapery in Preston 1861 before helping to develop recording and measuring equipment for the textiles industry in the 1950s. These original tachograph designs were then developed and tailored specifically for the transport sector.
